Monitoring pig predation in Cape York, Queensland

Our field staff recently returned from a successful monitoring survey in Cape York, North Queensland.

Four team members used ATVs to monitor turtle nesting activity and record evidence of predation along 60 km of coastline. They also assisted with training the Land, Sea and Management Program Advisors so that they can conduct turtle monitoring activities themselves.

The aim of the survey was to detect changes in feral pig predation following three years of population control activities.
