Twenty years of turtle tracks: Pendoley Environmental publishes a two decade data set

As Pendoley Environmental approaches its 20th year in business, Dr Kellie Pendoley and co-authors have drawn on two decades of research to publish a 20 year data set. The information was accumulated during field surveys to 154 individual locations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Published this month in the Australian Journal of Zoology, the article provides a much needed overview of patterns of marine turtle nesting within the region. The authors detail which of the three species of turtle recorded (green, hawksbill and flatback) nest at each of the 126 island and 28 mainland locations surveyed and give an estimate of abundance for each.
